Nice to meet you! 10 things about me…

10 things about me Post

Hello you wonderful human being you!

I trust you are having a fantastically awesome day. If you’re not, I’m sending you a big hug and wish your day gets better.

I’ve had this blog for a while, I’ve shared my thoughts and my writing but I realised I haven’t told you much about myself. That’s what I’ll be doing today!

So here we go! 10 things about me:

  1. My Name…
My name is Sandjena {pronounced – Sand-jean-nah}. Many have said it wrong, so I thought I’d make it easy for you.
People who see my name before they meet me or speak to me, usually do not expect someone who looks like me to show up. I find it quite hilarious.
Before you ask, no I don’t know what it means, I tried to find out. I might just make up what I think it means and go with that. If you have any suggestions let me know.
  1. I live in the U.K
The island with unpredictable weather but so many opportunities for growth and love and joy and connection and beauty!
I’ve lived in a few different places in England specifically.
  1. I am an Optimist!
“Always look on the bright side of life”. I do have days when things do get overwhelming and I have had some real heart breaking moments in life. However, I believe there’s potential for good in every situation.
There’s a solution to every problem, though it may take a while to find. Keep hope alive!
  1. I love to Smile and Laugh!
Laughing is such a fun thing to do.
I love to hear the sound of my own laugh and the laughter of others. It brings my heart a lot of joy and it’s calming.
One trait that I appreciate and I’m deeply grateful for in my family, is our ability to laugh through hard times.

I’ll do another blog post on the wonderful benefits of laughter soon. I’ll give you one now, it helps to boosting the endorphins (feel good chemical) in the brain. Why take drugs when you can laugh for free!

  1. I am a life Long Learner
I like to learn new things.
Being open to learning is the first of many steps to adding more value to your life experience. Learning which leads to understanding, action and wisdom.
I know there’s always something new that I can learn whether that’s about myself, a topic of interest or about someone else.
One of the ways I engage in learning is reading. It is one of my hobbies.
What makes a book good for me?
  • Content – what’s it about?
  • Cover art – Do I like the design?
  • Style – Do I like their writing style? I like to stretch my imagination.
Kindle samples are one of the best features on Amazon, if you ask me. I usually download the sample and have a pre-read before committing to the full purchase.
  1. I prefer my hair short
I’ve done quite a bit to my hair over the years. But I much prefer it as short as I can, without being bald.
I wondered what it would be like to be bald and an opportunity presented itself (funny story) so I tried it.
I discovered how hot and sensitive my scalp actually is, it was a vulnerable feeling. I didn’t hate it but I don’t think I’ll be doing it again anytime soon.
  1. I love to see people in Love
I don’t subscribe to #relationshipgoals culture because unless you’re in that relationship you don’t really know what’s going on.
That being said I love to see couple who have weathered the storms of life and are still holding hands on the other side of it. That to me is so beautiful!
But I love, love in general! Love…makes me fuzzy inside and happy outside hehe
  1. I like to Travel to New Places
I am 95% of the time up for a road trip. One of my goals in life is to travel the world.
I’ve been to a few countries so far and travelled around the U.K a bit but not enough. That will be changing soon…World here I come!!!! haha
  1. I love to see Other People Win in Life!
I feel like your win is my win.
I’m the type of person that will completely cheer you along to be your best self and live your best life.
There are many opportunities that are presented to hate on someone else’s success, especially with the rise of social media. But I mean, why hate when you can celebrate! *Mini dance party*
Besides, you don’t know what they had to do to get to where they are.
If I ever look at someone else and feel some kinda way, then I check myself on that quick time. I have no room for negativity in my heart or my space.
You reap what you sow, so I’m sowing good seeds into other people’s success.
  1. I am a winter baby but I much prefer the Sunny Summer!
I know people who like winter…what is that about?!?! I honestly don’t understand it.
There you go, I hope you enjoyed getting to know the woman behind the blog a bit better.
Now we’re on this journey together, tell me something about yourself. What do you like? What are your pet peeves? favourite colour perhaps….
