Hello my amazing friend,
I hope you are having a super day so far.
This week I’ve been listening to podcasts, reading books and watching youtube videos on how to increase productivity and get the most out of your day. There are a lot of people with varying, yet similar perspectives.
So I decided to take action on it and put a schedule together for my week. I previously had been trying to schedule all my days to mirror each other but my days tend to be quite different.
In light of that I made a schedule that reflected my current schedule but with a lot more structure.
What I found out was that this is a marathon not a sprint.
It is takes a lot of intentionality, focus and thought to even get the schedule done for an hour to hour timeline.
This was my first week with the new routine. Honestly, I sucked at keeping to my schedule. Even the things that I had been doing before I had the schedule, I sucked at those too.
I feel like I had a mini rebellious moment against that much structure thrown at me at once. Even if I’m the one doing it for my own good.
No one that I listened to about their morning routines that they’re developed spoke about the adjust period.
As I was competing the full schedule I thought, “Woah! this is a lot! I’m going to need some adjustment parameters here.”
So that’s what I did, I’ve given myself a month for investigation, to find out what works and what doesn’t in terms of what I want to implement.
Boi am I glad I did that from the get go. That gave me the freedom to lean into the adjustment and be kind and patient with myself. Even the moments and times, such as this week, when I missed the mark by 90%.
During this month I’ll be going over what works for me and what doesn’t. This will help me to build a schedule that gives me maximum productivity each day.
There are so many things that goes into a daily schedule and so many areas that can be worked on. But for me, a few things I definitely need in my daily routine are:
- Morning & Evening Quiet time
- Gratitude breaks
- Exercise in some shape or form
- Do something that contributes towards growth
- Journaling
I’ll go through why those things are important to me as I take you on this journey with me.
Do you have a daily routine that you’ve adopted? How did you find transitioning into it?
What are the must haves in your daily routine? Let me know in the comments below.
I’ll check in with you again next week. Have a great weekend!
