Inexperience – Not a reason to Quit

I don’t know if you’ve been bitten by this too, but I have.

Journey envy. It’s a phrase I just thought of, do you like it? 

I have looked at other people websites, social feeds and heard them talk about the years of experience they’ve had. They have lots of stories to tell about their failures and their victories.

Then I look at myself, just starting out and to be honest it’s intimidating. And it causes me to wonder if I even have anything to offer to people. “Why should they listen to someone whose just starting out?” I ask myself.

I thought about it and listened to a few people sharing their journey. I realised that they were once where I am now, a newbie! Wet behind the ears and wanting to start something that will help make other people’s lives better.

If they had quit because they didn’t have the experience, they would never get the experience they currently have.

It’s like going to an interview for your first job and being told you don’t have enough experience. Well duh!! Why do you think I’m here for the job, to get experience!

Creating value and trust with those you seek to help and impact takes time, be in it for the long haul. Be willing to make mistakes and learn from them.

So, the moral of the story is this. Start from where you are and keep going!

Even when it’s hard, even when you don’t see immediate results. Everyone travels this road more than once in their lifetime.

If you’re doing it for the right reasons, which is something only you can decide, then keep going. Don’t give up before you even start the journey.
